Life Coaching & Counseling - Addiction & Relationships
Authentic recovery for marriages touched by addiction. Recovery in the midst of daily life.
You don't have to leave your job, your kids, or your life to start recovery. Real change happens right where you are; with the right support, the right strategy, and enough time to do it properly. Let's talk for a moment.
You've Been Here Before
If you found this page at 2am, you already know something isn't working.
Maybe it's addiction — yours, or the person you love most. Maybe you've tried talking, pleading, threatening, forgiving. Maybe you've Googled things you'd never say out loud. Maybe you've wondered if you're the problem, or the solution, or both.
You're not failing. You're trying to solve something complicated with tools that weren't built for it.
- The ultimatums that didn't hold, and what that cost you both
- The exhaustion of hoping again after you promised yourself you wouldn't
- The arguments that somehow become about winning the argument, not the real thing
- Feeling alone inside something that's supposed to be a partnership
- Watching someone you love disappear, and not knowing how to reach them
Traditional addiction treatment has one patient. but addiction doesn't happen to just one person it happens to a spouse and family.
The addicted partner enters treatment — meetings, steps, programs, group sessions. The other partner waits. Manages the household. Holds things together. Hopes this time is different. And when treatment ends, both people return to the same marriage, the same patterns, the same distance.
That's not a personal failure. It's a framework that was never designed for two people.
Addiction doesn't happen to one person in a marriage. It happens to both.
The addicted partner carries the suffering, the shame, the exhausting weight of a life that has narrowed around a substance. The other partner carries something just as real — the hypervigilance, the grief, the loneliness of loving someone who keeps disappearing. Both people have lost something. Both people are trying to survive it. And both people deserve more than a program that addresses only half the picture.
"Addiction Doesn't happen to one person in a marriage. It Happens to both."
What's possible here is something different.
Not a treatment plan for one person that the other has to accommodate. A shared direction built together, at a pace that fits your lives, aimed at something both people actually want. The question isn't just how do we stop the addiction. It's what kind of marriage do we want to build, and how do we move toward it together.
Underneath everything that's happened, every broken promise, every hard conversation, every moment of shame or exhaustion, both of you have survived. That's where we start.
The Approach
Counseling & Coaching Built for the Whole partnership, Not just the addiction.
Recovery and Relationship Restoration don't follow the same timeline. Couples rarely grow in step with each other, and that's not failure, that's being human. The work holds space for both people, wherever they are.
Acceptance Over Avoidance
Learning to face what's true without shame, without denial, so both people can move from the same honest ground.
Values Based Recovery
Recovery built around who you want to be is more durable than recovery built around checking all the boxes.
Both Partners Matter
The non-addicted partner's pain, identity, and needs aren't a side issue. They are half the work.
Teamwork. Not Tug of War
Youll build a shared strategy, flexible, realistic, and designed to move you through relationship & addiction recovery this year.
What this Actually Looks Like
Your life doesn't stop. The work fits inside it.
The first step is a free thirty minute video consultation, done together, if you're a couple. Not an intake form. A real conversation about where things are, what you've tried, and whether this feels like the right fit. If it does, we get started.
Early sessions are about getting the full picture. What's actually happening, how you're coping, what matters most to you. We'll work through an ACTivity called the Matrix, a simple but surprisingly powerful way of seeing your experience as a whole. Most people find that just mapping it out together shifts something. It makes sense of what has felt like chaos.
From there we'll explore how you're each wired, how you attach, what drives you, what you value. Not as labels to carry, but as information that helps us understand what's actually playing out in daily life, the arguments, the disconnection, the patterns of relief that aren't working anymore.
Within the first few sessions a direction begins to emerge. We'll introduce a ten day coaching challenge to build the skills that make everything else possible. It's brief, manageable, and tailored specifically to your situation - relationship and addiction recovery.
We work at a pace that fits your life, your goals, and your stage of change. That usually means a few sessions up front to build momentum, then settling into the Goldilocks zone — frequent enough to keep moving, sustainable enough to last.
What you will carry forward is a working model that is elegantly simple for even the most complex and complicated problems, resources to use in crisis, tools for dealing with addiction, and new skills to repair and restore your connection.
This is a year of real work. Not because recovery is slow, but because building a life you love takes time. Thirty days of treatment can't do it. What you're really doing is rebuilding from the inside; renovating the life you're still living in, through the seasons and storms that don't pause for anyone's recovery.
